More amazing books about 2012.

Quetzalcoatl (pronounced [ketsalˈkoːaːtɬ] in Nahuatl) is an Aztec sky and creator god. The name is a combination of quetzalli, a brightly colored Mesoamerican bird, and coatl, meaning serpent. The name was also taken on by various ancient leaders. Due to their cyclical view of time and the tendency of leaders to revise histories to support their rule, many events and attributes attributed to Quetzalcoatl are exceedingly difficult to separate from the political leaders that took this name on themselves.[1] Quetzalcoatl is often referred to as The Feathered Serpent and was connected to the planet Venus. He was also the patron god of the Aztec priesthood, of learning and knowledge.[2] Today Quetzalcoatl is arguably the best known Aztec deity, and is often thought to have been the principal Aztec god. However, Quetzalcoatl was one of several important gods in the Aztec pantheon along with the gods Tlaloc, Tezcatlipoca and Huitzilopochtli.

Several other Mesoamerican cultures are known to have worshipped a feathered serpent god: At Teotihuacan the several monumental structures are adorned with images of a feathered serpent (Notably the so-called "Citadel and Temple of Quetzalcoatl"[1]). Such imagery is also prominent at such sites as Chichén Itza and Tula. This has led scholars to conclude that the deity called Quetzalcoatl in the Nahuatl language was among the most important deities of Mesoamerica.[3] The god Quetzalcoatl was sometimes conflated with Topiltzin Ce Acatl Quetzalcoatl, a semi-legendary 10th century Toltec ruler.

2012 Draws Nigh PDF Print E-mail
As we spin and slide through this dimension we call "space" we are forever moving -- never at rest. Life is the existence of consciousness among this quiet chaos of a moment that we all share so uniquely and yet, somehow, simultaneously. We perceive our lives as best as we can, with the limited minds we all receive at birth...or soon after perhaps...as some cultures believe.

Standing on the shore where the ocean meets the land, we see the proof that this globe is never at rest. The non-stop waves lapping the seemingly infinite grains of sand reminds us of our own rhythms...the second hand of our watch echoes the beating of our hearts, while our breathing is as continuous as the minute hand, our daily routine of sleeping and waking coincides with the hour hand and our monthly physical cycles (or psycles as I refer to them in the case of my wife).

These are merely the rhythms or vibrations...life cycles or repetitions...that we can and have observed.

2012 brings us the opportunity to witness the cresting of a wave that only comes along every 13000 generations. No living human has ever witnessed this wave, this part of the universe's song has not been heard by any living soul before. Many measures ago, it rang out loud and many measures from now it will return again.
