Last week's article regarding this powerful window of time we now live in scarcely scratched the surface so a second (at the very least) article seemed appropriate. While it is important to understand the context, it is equally important to understand how the energies affect the population and how people can process and utilize the new energies. There is a great deal already written on the subject so this (and perhaps other) articles will attempt to synthesize the information and provide a somewhat different perspective.

As mentioned before, we are in a window of time prophesized for thousands of years by everyone from the Mayans and Hopis to Nostradamus and Edger Cayce and culminating in 2012. In 2012 there will also be unprecedented celestial alignments. Scientists point to 2012 as a time certain earth conditions may come to a head. It is also theorized this is a time when the earth's polarities will again switch (which it has done before).

There are three elongated, parallel and adjacent mesas in northern Arizona. On one of them is a Hopi village where the people live in the old ways; no electricity, no running water, nothing of the modern era. They believe their purpose in living there in this way is to hold the earth together. They say if they did not, the earth would fall apart and be destroyed so they make this sacrifice to save the earth. Unfortunately, many of the younger generation do not wish to follow this path and are leaving the village. The elders say the decreased numbers have weakened their protective hold on the earth and they aren't sure how much longer the power may last. Interestingly, their perception of diminished power coincides with an ancient Hopi belief of the end time coming around 2012. As for the Mayans, their famous perpetual calendar stops in 2012.

While there are many theories on exactly what will happen in 2012, there seems to be consensus there will be a destruction of the old and birth of the new. One broad theory presents a literal destruction of the earth. Yet, even those who believe in the "end time" are split on how this may occur. Some say it will be a world war that destroys the earth; some are even more specific and say it will be a world war born in the Middle East and some are even more refined specifying a war over oil. Other proponents of the end time theory say it will be as a result of environmental catastrophes such as global warming. Civil unrest, economic collapse, asteroids or other celestial objects, the Yellowstone super volcano or pandemic disease all could bring about the end time. Scientific American (Sept. 2005) says the next 10-15 years is critical.

Yet perhaps this end time may not be any of the destructions mentioned above. Another (and infinitely more palatable) possibility is great changes to the spiritual, perceptual, psychological and energetic makeup of the population. Certainly a quantum shift in these areas would result in a destruction of the old ways and birth of new ways (not necessarily a bad thing). Maybe the end time will be some combination of international conflict, geologic instability and a new spiritual alignment. In any case, does it not seem there is something happening all around us that is considerably different than it was not very long ago? I speak to so many people who talk about how it seems time is just flying by. While certain individual events seem to have taken place an eternity ago, it truly seems our overall perception of time is speeding up. The Kryon books (Kryon Writings publications) says every year from now to 2012 time will actually speed up exponentially. While time is a human invention, the passage from one event to another is not. Since things seem to be speeding up, 2012 will be here before many will realize it. Is there enough time?

Gregg Braden is a scientist, philosopher, author and spiritual guru I had the privilege to do a three-day workshop with a few years ago. He showed how we are at a crossroads of time that began to arise around 1987, a time science was finally able to begin to explain and substantiate many of the ancient beliefs. He presented many quantified studies done by the likes of Princeton and MIT that prove each one of us is connected with the earth energetically. Three of these experiments,”changed everything.” While I won’t go into details of the experiments (they are published in the institutions’ journals and in Braden’s writings); the results of them are as follows: first, matter that was once connected will always be connected (all the way back to the big bang theory which means everything is connected). Second, there is a previously unrecognized form of energy and DNA cells communicate with other forms of matter. Lastly, living cells (through emotional states) communicate through this previously unrecognized matter.

So you say, “Great, what does this mean and how does it relate to this window of time?” While it is far beyond the scope of this article to delve into the grand significance of these findings (I encourage everyone to read Gregg Braden’s works), we can now acknowledge there is a web or fabric of creation; it is everywhere, it has always been here and the field has an intelligence that responds to human emotion. The Lakota phrase Mitakuye Oyasin (we are all related) has never taken on such profound and widespread meaning. The Native Americans and other native peoples belief we are connected to the earth and its creatures has never been more important. So, we essentially have two major points for reflection: first, we are in a window of time that may culminate in destruction in the old world view. Second, through thought and our emotional states (love versus fear) we can affect the outcome.

It is important here to remember the teachings of Buffalo; that is, abundance through right action and right prayer. While thought and emotion play a key role in the outcome, they cannot exist in a vacuum, both must coexist with the actions we take (remember the Hopi on the Arizona mesa).

Continuing the subject of recent articles regarding the approach of 2012 and having reviewed the context and background, the next logical inquiry would be as to the implications; what does it mean, what can we do?

First, if we essentially accept the premise we are in a window of time that will soon culminate in a collapse of the old ways and rise of new ones, we can transition to the next step...preparation. How one prepares for the changes is contingent on the perception of what each individual considers likely outcomes as 2012 approaches. A second consideration is the present context; that is, the energetic environment we are now operating in. To review, let us make some necessary assumptions. While not everyone will agree with these entirely, perhaps skeptics will allow these remain theoretic possibilities.

I submit we are in a window of time of increased energy. In the near future great changes will occur that have been prophesized through time and across many cultures. The exact nature of these changes is yet unknown. Science has legitimized and substantiated many of the ancient beliefs. We have the power individually and collectively to affect, in some ways, both the outcome of the grand universe and our personal universe.

While these have been mentioned in these pages before, there are two important Native American phases relevant here. The first is the well-known Lakota reality, mitakuye oyasin (we are all related). The second is the somewhat complex Navajo phrase, sa’a naghai, bik’e hozho’ (may your personal, subjective universe exist and act as it should and in harmony with the Grand Universe).

With all of this as the backdrop, consider now the current situation. As mentioned previously, we are in a window of increased energy where time itself seems to be speeding up. Think of your own perceptions. Have you not felt time is flying by in a manner it never has before? As we approach 2012 the perception of (and perhaps even the reality of) time is moving faster and faster. If this is so, what are the implications? Since these conditions are unprecedented in the human experience it is difficult to know for sure but it does seem one legitimate aspect is increased earth energy.

If the energy of the earth (everything from earth’s electromagnetic energy to the power of human thought) is increasing, and if we accept on some level thought creates reality, whatever we think, the emotion (fear versus love) behind these thoughts and the resulting actions taken in conjunction with the thoughts will also have increased power. If we live in fear (and the associated feelings of anger, hate, jealousy, contempt, etc.) the thoughts and actions associated with this negativity will undoubtedly have increased power as well. Conversely, if we operate with the love energy (and the associated feelings of compassion, caring, charity, etc.) fueling our thoughts and actions, the result will be even more powerful on the positive side.

A few years ago I took part in a coordinated meditative effort organized by the authors of the Celestine Prophecy. The authors arranged a mass meditation where people around the world called in and remained on the line while the authors conducted the simultaneous group meditation. They estimated there were 300 to 400 people involved. We were instructed to send love and light to the Middle East (a region in need of these energies). Ten days later an unprecedented accord was signed by leaders in that region. Did we cause this to happen? Maybe, maybe not but I do believe we facilitated the event. The point is we can make a difference.

Collective thought can have great power. Ritual and meditation can help us center and direct these thoughts. As we affect our personal lives we will also influence the lives of others and indeed, the earth itself. As mentioned previously, studies conducted at Princeton and MIT demonstrated how an individual’s thought and emotion, while influencing and changing the energy of the heart field (a real electromagnetic energy generated by a person’s heart that can be measured) will simultaneously stimulate and change the electromagnetic energy of the earth the subject is standing on. This is profound and inspiring. As Spider teaches, all things are connected on an infinite web of existence.
